Negotiating The Offer
Following are important issues to understand and address about the offer:
- The motivation and seriousness of the potential buyer.
- The buyer's ability to qualify for financing.
- The source of down payment funds.
- The buyer's employment history.
- The buyer's intended use of the property.
In addition, I will:
- Discuss the offer with you privately after it has been presented by the buyer's agent, so that you fully understand what the buyer is offering, and asking for.
- Discuss the pros and cons of the offer, and the possible effects of your response on the buyer.
- Calculate and prepare an estimate of the seller's proceeds, based on the offer.
- Assist you in structuring your counter offer, if necessary, and negotiate on your behalf.
